Artistry in Wood 2015
Artistry in Wood 2015 was held at The Woodsmith Store on March 28 & 29. This is a Biannual Public Event sponsored by the Des Moines Woodworkers Club and the Des Moines Woodturners Club to showcase the outstanding skills and excellent work of our Members.
The attending Club Members vote for the “Bill Hopkins” Best of Show Award. This Award honors Bill’s long-term contribution to the Club. It was won by Bob Saunders for his Artistic Style Table and Chair.
The attending Public votes for the "People's Choice Awards". Mel Slaybaugh’s Train Engine received the most votes. Others receiving a large number of votes were Shawn Brown for his bicycle, Roger Ness for his series of vases of difference sizes and Brian Salz for his vase with side void (#345).
